Introduction to the Lions World Vision Institute
The Lions World Vision Institute was founded in 1973 to serve as a nonprofit eye bank to support the Central Florida Region. Since then, Lions World Vision Institute has grown significantly. We not only provide eye banking services, but we also have a state-of-the-art Ocular Research Center. Additionally, the organization provides surgeon training opportunities to ensure safe and effective transplant surgeries.
In October of 2020, we launched our Vision Health Program, providing vision screenings to Head Start students in Hillsborough County. In December 2020 we became the new operators of the Glazer Vision Foundation’s Mobile Vision Clinic program to further expand our community outreach.
We are committed to helping provide improved vision for children in need throughout the Tampa Bay area. We are excited to announce another program, our Youth Vision Program, further extending our mobile vision care services. This program will also offer vision screenings, exams and eyeglasses in Pasco, Hillsborough, and Pinellas counties.
